Employee Spotlight: Robert Dike

Role: Health & Safety Officer

“For 27 years, the trucking industry has been my home. Starting in Ontario with my AZ License, I spent 16 years driving dump trucks, cement mixers, and 53-foot van and reefer trailers across every Canadian province and all U.S. states except Alaska. After moving to British Columbia 14 years ago, I became a highway trainer, guiding new drivers over the mountains. Later, I built and led a training department, creating all materials and exercises to prepare drivers, before transitioning to a recruiter role until COVID-19 led to a layoff. Just three days later, I was hired as a Safety & Compliance Manager, a role I continue today.

Teaching is my passion, and every day I help someone learn is an achievement. I’ve trained countless drivers over the years, and their success is my greatest reward. To keep teaching, I earned certifications to instruct Class 1 license students and now work weekends at Valley Driving School. My strengths lie in staying organized, calm, and effective, using my experience to lead others to success with dependability and loyalty.

Outside work, I’m eyeing a CHRP certification in Human Resources to grow professionally. For fun, I play MMO games like World of Warcraft, leading a guild of 100 players. At Lantrax Logistics, I’m proud to contribute my expertise to ensure safety and compliance while continuing to mentor others.”
